“Dangerous Latitudes was the first book I have read by James Ullrich. I can definitely tell that he is a travel writer as the locations throughout the book are extremely vivid. I really enjoyed the descriptions and wish he brought the same depiction to his characters. I really enjoyed this book though and will definitely be looking for the next Matthew Hunt novel!”

“The author did a great job developing and describing the characters. He made the Amazon come to life. There is something for everyone in this book, including a little romance. I would definitely read another book by this author.”

“Exotic locations, lots of intrigue, action, danger, romance. Dangerous Latitudes has it all! The characters come to life and the adventure keeps you turning the pages as fast as you can. If you are looking for a change of pace from the run of the mill mundane stories out there, then this book is for you. It promises adventure and it really delivers.”

4.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting Adventure Tale, February 18, 2013

“I’m a sucker for books about people on a quest of some sort, and when that quest leads through the Amazon Jungle, I’m ready to sit back and lose myself in the story.

This book contains all those elements, featuring a travel writer/adventurer who agrees to help a lovely historian find her professor father who supposedly disappeared while searching for a mythical city hidden deep in the Amazon Jungle. Throw in the possibility of the Fountain of Youth and you have all the makings of a rollicking adventure.

This book moves along at a pretty good clip, with writing that is clear and concise. I really liked the fact that the female character was not only beautiful but also clearly intelligent and courageous.”
